Lake Weiss Fishing Report – September 2021

GON Staff | August 25, 2021

Weiss: Level: 0.1 feet below full pool. Temp: Mid 80s. Clarity: Moderate stain.

Bass: Guide Mark Collins reports, “Bass fishing is fair. The bass are still on a summer pattern on main-lake points, roadbeds and the creek and river channels. Shad-pattern crankbaits and Carolina rigs are working well. Slow-rolling a spinnerbait is also working.”

Crappie: Guide Mark Collins reports, “Crappie fishing is fair. They are on the deeper brush and the creek channel ledges about 12 to 20 feet deep. Spider rigging with live minnows and jigs over brush and stumps is the way to catch summertime crappie. A few crappie are still being caught shooting docks with jigs.”
