Lake Weiss Fishing Report – July 2022

GON Staff | June 30, 2022

Weiss: Level: 0.1 below 564. Temp: 85-88 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Multiple Species: Guide Mark Collins reports, “Bass fishing is good, and they are moving to the creek and river channel ledges. Deep-running crankbaits and Carolina rigs are catching fish. Crappie fishing is fair, and they are on deeper brush in 10 to 18 feet of water and can be caught spider rigging with minnows and Jiffy Jigs. Some crappie are still being caught shooting docks with jigs. Striper fishing is fair, and they are starting to show up in the lower Chattooga River, at the Cave Hole and in Little Spring Creek. Catfish are biting good in the bays and creeks in 8 to 15 feet of water. Cutbait is working best.”
