Lake Weiss Fishing Report – December 2021

GON Staff | November 25, 2021

Weiss: Level: 3.8 feet below full pool. Temp: Low to mid 60s. Clarity: Moderate stain.

Bass: Guide Mark Collins reports, “Bass fishing is fair. A lot of fish have moved shallow as the water cools. They are showing up on secondary points, humps, roadbeds and sand bars. Rat-L -Traps, flat-sided crankbaits and spinnerbaits are catching fish.”

Crappie: “The fishing is good,” said Mark. “They are still on the deeper brush, and a lot are showing up on the creek and river channel ledges about 12 to 20 feet deep. Spider-rigging with live minnows and jigs over brush and stumps is the way to catch fish in the fall. A few crappie are still being caught shooting docks with jigs. Some fish are starting to suspend in the river channel in Little River and can be caught long-line trolling with Jiffy Jigs.”
