Lake Weiss Fishing Report – December 2019

GON Staff | November 22, 2019

Weiss: Level: 4 feet below full pool. Temp: Mid 50s. Clarity: Light stain.

Bass: Guide and tournament angler Mike Carter reports, “Weiss Lake is approaching its winter pool level, and though the lake can be a little complicated to maneuver around due to the hazards all around the lake, it doesn’t stop the fish from feeding. The action on this lake this time of year can be a lot of fun with some solid Coosa River spotted bass. The most consistent patterns for Weiss in late November and December is covering a lot of shallow bars and points with Rat-L-Traps and with Echo and MR6 crankbaits. These three baits can produce some consistent action throughout the winter months. The topwater bite along seawalls and rip-rap areas early morning and late evening with Stutter Steps can also produce well, especially if it’s during some of the warmer days.”
