Lake Sinclair Fishing Report August 2011
GON Staff | July 28, 2011
Sinclair: Level: 1.4 feet below full pool. Temp: 90 degrees. Clarity: Slight stain.
Bass: Many fish will be holding on offshore structure in 15 to 30 feet of water depending on the area of the lake you’re fishing. Carolina- or Texas-rigged soft plastics or deep cranking will be the best ways to catch these offshore fish. There should also be some fish that stay shallow this month in knee-deep shoreline cover. Fresh running water in the back ends of the major creeks makes for suitable conditions for these shallow fish. Grass is one of the best places to look for these fish. Try spinnerbaits, buzzbaits or frogs around grass, or punch matted grass with a creature bait. Docks are a type of shallow cover that can always produce on Sinclair. Skip soft plastics as far as you can under docks, or bump dock posts on the shady side with small crankbaits. For a full feature on Sinclair in August, see page 56.
