Lake Jackson Fishing Report – September 2009

GON Staff | August 25, 2009

Jackson: Level: 1.1 feet above full pool. Temp: 86-89 degrees. Clarity: Mostly clear.

Bass:
Slow. Aaron Batson reports, “For numbers it is best to stay deep with a 1/2-oz. Carolina-rigged Zoom Finesse worm or Swamp Crawler. Look for bass in brushpiles on the main lake in 20 to 25 feet of water. Spots are being caught down the lake on a 1/4-oz. Net Boy Baits Screwball jig head with a Zoom Speed Craw or finesse worm. Keep a small Sammy or Spook on deck while fishing deep — schooling fish are beginning to show up some. Bigger largemouths are coming from up the South River above the 36 bridge. Look for them in deep holes and blowdowns. They can be caught a 1/4-oz. Net Boy Baits jig in any color. One key has been to dip the whole jig in clear J.J.’s Magic.”
