Lake Jackson Fishing Report March 2014

GON Staff | March 5, 2014

Jackson: Level: 0.4 feet below full pool. Temp: 48-54 degrees. Clarity: Stained.

Bass: Slow. Tournament angler Aaron Batson reports, “This will be a great month to catch a big sack of heavy female largemouths. Cover water with Ol’Nelle spinnerbaits and Net Boy Baits chatterbaits in chartreuse or white. Find some active fish in a cove or creek, then slow down and work the area slowly with a 3/8-oz. Net Boy Baits flipping jig in blacks or browns. Dipping the trailer in JJ’s blue or red dye can help add some attractant color and scent. You can also find some big spots down the lake that will eat a jerkbait well—like a Pointer 78 or Smithwick Rogue. Try a clown color bait or firetiger.”
