Lake Jackson Fishing Report July 2012

GON Staff | June 27, 2012

Jackson: Level: 2.7 feet below full pool. Temp: 78 to 80 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Eric Perkins reports, “Fishing has been good, and I think it will continue once the lake fills back up and gets stable. There are a number of patterns working right now. You can catch some good fish early around the new grass and trash on topwater and flukes. A white or black Lunker Lure buzzbait and baits like Spro Frogs, Zell Pops and Ricos all work. Also, there have been some good mayfly hatches, and I catch fish out of them on a black/brown Net Boy Baits flipping jig. Once the sun gets high, drop out deep on brushpiles, long points or humps with a Net Boy Baits finesse jig. I like their 7/16-oz. in green craw with a green-pumpkin Wackem Crazy Craw trailer. The Alcovy Arm of the lake has been hot as well as the lower end down around the dam.”
