Lake Jackson Fishing Report – December 2021

GON Staff | November 25, 2021

Jackson: Level: Almost 9 feet down and not a single boat ramp is available to launch from.

Bass: Tournament angler Karl Pingry reports, “Word has it that Lake Jackson will start to fill sometime after Thanksgiving. Unfortunately I did not have the information on how quickly Lake Jackson will become ramp accessible/boat launchable. That being said, look for the bass to pull shallow on the first set of sunny days with rising water.  Squarebills, flat cranks and crankbaits that dive down to 12 feet on extended points and banks with rock and red clay would be what I would target until I established the depth the bait and bass are relating to. Areas where there is a transition from one bottom to the other is a consistent pattern and NEVER pass up a boat ramp! ChatterBaits, spinnerbaits and Red Eye Shad  will work also work. Carolina rigs, drop shots and shaky-head worms on the humps and drop-offs will come into play as the temps drop into the mid 40s.”
