Lake Jackson Fishing Report December 2017

GON Staff | November 28, 2017

Jackson: Level: 0.9 feet below full pool. Temp: Low 60s. Clarity: Clear to slightly stained.

Bass: Tournament angler Keith Dawkins reports, “December can be a great time to catch some big largemouth and spots on Jackson. Concentrate on rocks and blowdowns near points and drops. Jigs and creature baits worked slowly on chunk rocks and long points can produce some good bites. Always keep tied on a No. 7 Shad Rap in crawfish or silver with black back. Pay attention to your electronics as the water cools down and the shad begin to ball up. Once they do, a 1/2-oz. jigging spoon or drop shot can produce good numbers of spotted bass in ditches and off the deep drops.”
