Lake Jackson Fishing Report December 2016

GON Staff | November 22, 2016

Jackson: Level: 2.6 feet low. Temp: 61-64 degrees. Clarity: Very light stain, almost clear.

Bass: Tournament angler Aaron Batson reports, “Bass fishing has been good, especially for good spotted bass. Look down the lake off main-lake points. Fish are holding in 12 to 18 feet of water. We have been catching some great spots on Fish Head Spins and Lucky Craft Pointer 78 jerkbaits. I have been using a new Kissel Kraft custom rod (model CB 845), and it is perfect for feeling the bite on both baits and loads up perfectly to keep from pulling the bait away from the bass. These rods are very light and sensitive. We have been running a Missile Baits Shockwave swimbait on the Fish Head Spin. Try bombshell and fishalicious colors. Count the bait down to about the 10- to 12-foot range, and slowly reel it back to the boat. Fish are running in the 2- to 3-lb. range.”
