GON Staff | November 26, 2008

Jackson: Level: 0.6 feet above full pool. Temp: 55-59 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass:
Fishing is good, according to the 2008 Skeeter Eliminator Series Champion Aaron Batson. “Spotted bass can be caught deep all over the lake,” said Aaron. “Look for bait in 18 to 26 feet of water, and drop a 3/4-oz. War Eagle jigging spoon on them. Look for bait hugging close to the bottom on points and ledges in this range. Don’t stop to fish unless bait is seen on the graph. Also, dragging a 3/4-oz. Net Boy Baits Football Jig in natural colors on rocky points will catch both big spots and largemouths. Expect fewer bites on the jig and more on the spoon. Better-quality fish will be on the jig. On warm days look for some fish to move shallow late in the day. They will bite small crankbaits like Bombers, Bandits or Shad Raps.”
