Lake Hartwell Fishing Report – May 2020

GON Staff | April 30, 2020

Hartwell: Level: Full pool. Temp: Low 70s. Clarity: Stained up the river and in the backs of some of the creeks.

Bass: Access a Map-of-the-Month article with patterns and 10 GPS locations for May bass on Hartwell.

Linesides: Guide Preston Harden reports, “May fishing on Lake Hartwell should be spectacular. Most mornings I have been catching stripers, hybrids, spots and largemouth around humps, points and shoals until the sun gets up. May will have active fish up shallow early in the mornings. They are hungry and feeding heavily after an April spawn. By mid morning, the hybrids and stripers will move to deeper water. They are harder to locate then, but we usually have done well by that point.”
