Lake Eufaula Fishing Report – December 2023
GON Staff | November 29, 2023
Eufaula: Level: 0.5 below 188. Temp: 58 degrees. Clarity: Stained.
Bass: Capt. Sam Williams, of Hawks Fishing Guide Service, reports, “The river is creeping up a little with the rains, but we are still low. The cooler water has the bait and the hungry fish concentrating on the warmer rocky banks on the causeways and on the main river. Stick baits and Trick Worms are doing best. Try junebug, watermelon candy and blue/black. Jigs tipped with creature baits and spoons worked vertically are aggravating a bite. Do not overlook any wood you find near the rocky shoreline.”
Multiple Species: Capt. Sam Williams reports, “Crappie are holding mostly in 12 to 18 feet on natural and man-made structure. Minnows and minnow-tipped jigs are the answer here. Catfish continue to eat cutbait and stir-fry strips on jugs. Bottom fishermen continue to do well with crawlers on the creek drops. The Lee King Memorial Alabama Classic website is having issues. We do plan at this time to hold our fundraising tournaments on March 2 and Sept. 14, 2024. Save the dates and keep up with us on Fakebook. Pray for all our folks in uniform and their families. Remember what Christmas is really about. Our Lord and Savior was born and that is what we are celebrating. Take a youngster fishing or hunting during the Christmas season. Share with them about Jesus and create the memories they will tell their grandkid’s about.”
