Lake Chatuge Fishing Report March 2018

GON Staff | March 6, 2018

Chatuge: Level: 5.5 feet low. Temp: 59-61 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Guide Eric Welch reports, “The fishing has picked up with all the warm rain we’ve received the past month, not to mention the increase in water temps. The largemouth have been moving up shallow and in the backs of the pockets. Target these fish with a Strike King Rage Swimmer swimbait, an A-rig and a Strike King 2.5 squarebill. The spotted bass have also been moving up near the spawning flats and long, rocky points. Target them with jigs, jerkbaits, shaky heads and spinnerbaits. There is also some fish deep that you can catch throwing a drop shot and a shaky head. The spawning areas are also a good place to throw crawfish-colored crankbaits.”
