Fishermen can honor our veterans and those on active duty while enjoying a day fishing on Lake Chatuge for big money and prizes.

The Lake Chatuge ‘Reelin’ It In For Vets’ fishing tournament will be held Nov. 2. The team event entry fee is $200 per team, which includes tournament entry, Big Fish pot and a “Pre-Fish Feast” dinner on Friday night, Nov. 1 at the VFW. If a two-man team includes a veteran or active duty angler, the entry fee is just $150.

Blast-off is at safe light Saturday morning at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds Boat Ramp, and the weigh-in is at 2 p.m.

“We invite everyone to join us for the weigh-in and awards ceremony to honor these heroes. We will also be raffling off fishing gear, gift cards and apparel. Lunch will be available for purchase during the weigh-in and ceremony,” said tournament organizers.

A total purse of $7,500 will be up for grabs, including a first-place payout of $4,000 and $1,500 for second.
