Lake Chatuge Fishing Report – September 2019

GON Staff | August 28, 2019

Chatuge: Level: 2 feet below full pool. Temp: 84-85 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Guide Eric Welch reports, “The lake has dropped 2 feet, and we are starting to see some topwater activity. We should start seeing some cooler nights and mornings this upcoming month. I will start my mornings out looking for breaking fish around flats, humps and long points. My baits of choice are a Strike King Sexy Dawg, a Berkley Cane Walker and a Whooper Plooper. Last year around the mid part of the month, you could fish this pattern all day and catch some nice fish, but every year is different. By midday, I’m going to fish docks, points and laydowns with a drop shot using a 6.5-inch Roboworm, a shaky head and a 3/8-oz. jig in pb/j. You will also be able to catch fish throwing a swimbait and a ChatterBait. Good luck.”
