Lake Chatuge Fishing Report September 2014

GON Staff | August 27, 2014

Chatuge: Level: 2.4 feet below full pool. Temp: 83 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass:
Good. Guide Eric Welch reports, “There is a topwater bite early in the morning. Try something that makes a good noise like a Zara Spook or a prop bait. Also keep these handy during the day for blow-ups. Later in the day, I’m fishing a shaky head and drop shot off points and over offshore brushpiles. You can also catch fish on laydowns with a Texas rig. If fishing docks, look for docks around the bends of the river and any that has a nice drop-off in front of them. There has been a lot of fish busting, so you can catch some good-size fish by chasing the blow-ups.”
