Lake Chatuge Fishing Report – September 2010

GON Staff | August 25, 2010

Chatuge: Level: 2.2 feet below full pool. Temp: 85 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass:
Fair. Eric Welch, of Reel Job Fishing, reports, “You can find some fish shallow, but for the most part the spots are on deep brush in 20 to 30 feet. A couple weeks ago, I caught an 8-lb., 7-oz. largemouth in 6 feet of water on a drop shot. Keep a Sammy 100 or a pearl-white fluke tied on. There should be some topwater early and late and on cloudy days. I would target deep brush with a drop shot or a Texas rig in new ayu and green pumpkin/green. On a windy day I would target wind-blown blowdowns and docks with a War Eagle spinnerbait in spot-remover color. I would also throw a Norman DLN in pearl or grey ghost across windy points.”
