Lake Chatuge Fishing Report – October 2010

GON Staff | September 29, 2010

Chatuge: Level: 4 feet below full pool. Temp: 79-80 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Tough. John Hembry said it only took about 9 pounds to get in the money at a recent 60-boat tournament, but there were a few patterns going on. Drop shotting brush in 20 to 40 feet of water produced some smaller spotted bass, but the bigger spots seemed to be keying on topwater baits like Sammys on the main-lake points. There were also some largemouths caught in shallow cover with spinnerbaits and jigs. John said he expects everything to move up soon.
