Lake Chatuge Fishing Report – October 2006

GON Staff | September 25, 2006

Chatuge: Level: 5.0 feet below full pool. Temp: 73-75. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Green-pumpkin worms fished in brush is the most consistent pattern on the lake right now. Rig finesse worms Texas style with a 1/4- or 1/8-oz. weight, and shake them through brush on the 15 to 20-foot range. Drop-shot rigs with the small, hand-poured specialty worms or regular finesse worms in the same areas should also work. The cool weather at the end of September should improve the topwater bite, which has been slow early in the month. Keep a Sammy ready.
