Lake Chatuge Fishing Report – November 2022

GON Staff | October 27, 2022

Chatuge: Level:  6.5 feet below 1925. Temp: 65-66 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Guide Eric Welch, of Welch’s Guide Service, reports, “Fishing is good. The lake is down at winter pool. Since we’ve been having some colder nights and mornings the past couple of weeks, there has not been much of a topwater bite early. But once the sun gets up, it seems to get the baitfish moving around and the bass chasing. I’ve been throwing a Berkley Cane Walker, a Strike King Sexy Dawg Jr. and a Lucky Craft Gunfish. The baitfish we’ve been seeing is only 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 inches long, so if you are throwing swimbaits around this size, you’re going to get more bites. There has been a lot of fish staging off points and around structure. You may just have to keep working at them to get them to bite. I’m catching them on a drop shot, shaky head and small swimbait. We’ve also been catching some nice fish around docks, using a drop shot and 3/8-oz. jig. Good luck.”
