Lake Chatuge Fishing Report – November 2008

GON Staff | October 28, 2008

Chatuge: Level: 7.4 feet below full pool. Temp: 70 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: For the second year in a row, Heath Pack won the Masonic Lodge tournament on Chatuge. Heath and his partner brought in three largemouths and two spots that weighed just under 16 pounds to win the Oct. 4 tournament. “The fish are out on the main lake,” said Heath. “I wouldn’t be fishing back in the coves and cuts.” Heath said they caught the largemouths on worms fished in shallow brush. They came in with the big fish of the tournament, a 4 3/4-lb. largemouth that came out of brush about 9 feet deep. Heath said they caught several spots from deeper brush — 25 to 30 feet deep — while fishing with a Robo worm in Aaron’s Magic color, which is a brownish-green color, that was fished on a Spot Sticker jig head.
