Lake Chatuge Fishing Report July 2015

GON Staff | June 25, 2015

Chatuge: Level: 0.2 feet above full pool. Temp: 80-82 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Good. Guide Eric Welch reports, “We’re catching some good-sized spotted bass on topwater at first light. I’m targeting the mouths of pockets and long points with a Sexy Dog and a Sammy until the sun gets up. If it stays cloudy, this bite works on up in the day. There have also been some hybrids breaking in the mornings. Once the topwater bite is over, we’re fishing drop shots, Texas rigs, shaky heads and jigs. I’m targeting offshore brush and step drops with jigs and drop shots, using my electronics. On in the day, I’ll move in and fish lay downs and step banks with a jig and Texas rig. When fishing docks, look for the ones with shad and the ones that have a deep drop out in front of them.”
