Lake Chatuge Fishing Report – January 2010

GON Staff | January 4, 2010

Chatuge: Level: 6 feet below full pool. Temp: Mid 40s to low 50s. Clarity: Lightly stained, but the lake should clear up very quickly if there aren’t any more rains.

Bass: Slow. “Things are pretty dead right now,” said Charlie Baldwin. “I haven’t even seen any boats out on the lake.” Charlie said your best best would be to fish a spoon or a small worm on a drop shot in 25 to 30 feet of water over brushpiles on the sides of main-lake points. “If you can find shad, there should be some fish with them,” he said. “There always are this time of year.”
