Lake Chatuge Fishing Report – January 2008

GON Staff | January 3, 2008

Chatuge: Level: 12.7 feet below full pool. Temp: 50 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass:
December and January are usually good months to catch fish fishing vertically at Chatuge. “A spoon is one of the best ways to catch them this time of year,” said John Hembree. “You just start looking for balls of bait in 25 to 40 feet of water, and drop a spoon down just below them. Or you can get on rocky points and start working your way out watching for brush or bait. A spoon will work, and so will a jig-head worm or a drop shot.”
