Lake Chatuge Fishing Report – February 2020

GON Staff | January 30, 2020

Chatuge: Level: 6.5 feet low. Temp: 47-48 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Guide Eric Welch reports, “Sunny days have been more productive than cloudy days. Most of the fish have been 12 to 45 feet deep on points and deep, rocky banks. We have been catching some good spotted bass on a 3/16-oz. Fish Head Spin with a 3.5-inch Strike King Rage Swimmer. My best bite has been on a drop shot with a 4.5-inch Roboworm in red crawler on deep, long points and deep, rocky banks. Also I have been catching them on a Ned rig with a Z-Man TRD in green pumpkin. A shaky head with a Strike King 6.5-inch green-pumpkin finesse worm will work, also. Also try throwing a Strike King 1.5 square bill and a 1/2-oz. Red Eye Shad. If you find any fish bunched up, try a 1/2-oz. white or chrome spoon. Also try a Strike King KVD Series 200 jerkbait in clearwater minnow. On a sunny day, try an A-rig around docks, points and flats.”
