Lake Chatuge Fishing Report – December 2010

GON Staff | November 23, 2010

Chatuge: Level: 6.1 feet below full pool. Temp: 59 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Spotted bass: Bob Borgwat, of Reel Angling Adventures, reports, “Spotted bass have local anglers targeting schooled fish in 20 to 30 feet. Best locations appear to be main-lake points with lone brushpiles where blueback herring gather. Work deep-diving hard jerkbaits in long, slow pulls before pausing. Spinnerbaits take the best fish when slow-rolled near the brushpiles. Choose color patterns that mimic bluebacks. Channel drop-offs along primary creeks also hold spots that take Texas-rigged worms. Oxblood has been a great color pattern for several weeks.”
