Lake Chatuge Fishing Report August 2014

GON Staff | July 31, 2014

Chatuge: Level: Full pool. Temp: 82-84 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Good. Guide Eric Welch reports, “The morning bite and afternoon bite have been good with a lot of fish breaking. Target these fish with a Zoom Fluke and a Sammy. Look for them to be breaking in both open water and in the backs of pockets. With the rising water temps and boat traffic, I highly suggest downsizing your line to get more bites. We’re catching fish on a drop shot using 4.5 Robo Worms. On shaky heads, use Strike King Perfect Plastic finesse worms. We’re catching some around shaded docks and brush. If you’re good with your electronics and GPS, target creek bends and drops and also roadbeds. The fish are biting—you may just have to run around some to find them.”
