Lake Chatuge Fishing Report – August 2010

GON Staff | July 27, 2010

Chatuge: Level: 0.6 feet below full pool. Temp: 84 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Good. Eric Welch, of Reel Job Fishing, reports, “It’s been taking around 12 pounds to win tournaments on Lake Chatuge. Fish have been hanging around 20 to 30 feet deep on brushpiles. Try fishing a Texas rig with green-pumpkin or watermelon plastics. Fishing a drop-shot rig with a Roboworm in Aaron’s magic and bluegill colors has been producing well. If it’s a windy day, pull out a spinnerbait in white and target banks with laydowns. You can also throw a Norman crankbait in sexy shad or grey ghost as well on windy days. For nighttime fishing, try a black spinnerbait and a black crankbait across points.”
