Lake Chatuge Fishing Report April 2018

GON Staff | March 28, 2018

Chatuge: Level: 5.5 feet low. Temp: 48-53 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Guide Eric Welch reports, “The fishing is getting good. The water temps really jumped up when we got all that warm rain and the bass started moving up early, but the past month we’ve had a lot of cold, windy days and nights, and the water temps have dropped back down. The spotted bass are staged out off the spawning flats and points moving up during the warm, sunny days. I’m targeting these fish with a Strike King KVD Jerkbait 300 series in clearwater minnow, an A-rig, a Strike King 3.75 Rage Swimmer swimbait, a Strike King Red Eye Shad and a shaky head. The largemouth have been holding around any type of brush or stumps and pockets in 3 to 6 feet of water. I’ve been targeting them with an A-rig, Rage Swimmer, swim jig, ChatterBait, and a shaky head. This month is going to be the month to catch a big sack of largemouth in north Georgia.”
