Lake Blackshear Fishing Report – November 2023

GON Staff | October 26, 2023

Blackshear: Level: Full at 237. Temp: Low 70s. Clarity: Stained.

Bass: Tournament angler Chris Gray reports, “The bite has been inconsistent the last few weeks. A pattern that has been producing quality fish is a white popping frog fished over grass mats. Work the frog extremely slow. The bass are smart. Another way that will produce numbers is a Zoom Trick Worm on a shaky head fished around cypress trees and docks. The isolated trees in deeper water seem to always produce more bites. You might catch three fish under 14 inches for every keeper, but you will get bit. As the temperatures continue to cool down, a squarebill crankbait in sexy shad or chartreuse, depending on water clarity, will certainly be a pattern to try. With the crankbait, focus on points with blowdowns and deeper docks. Fish are still schooling, so keep a lipless rattling crankbait tied on. Good luck!”
