Lake Blackshear Fishing Report – December 2023

GON Staff | November 29, 2023

Blackshear: Level: Full at 237. Temp: 64-66 degrees. Clarity: A light stain but should muddy up soon with recent rains.

Bass: Tournament angler Chris Gray reports, “The fishing has been really good lately. We have been in a long drought, so the water is extremely clear for Blackshear. We just had a big rain, so that will change. You can still get bit throwing a white popping frog around grass. A Texas-rigged worm or creature bait fished around docks and deeper cypress trees continues to work well. You can do well right now fishing wind-blown points with spinnerbaits and medium-diving crankbaits. The fish are still feeding primarily on shad, but don’t be afraid to try a red crankbait as the water continues to cool down. The fish will start transitioning to their winter patterns later this month. Merry Christmas and God bless!”
