Bartletts Ferry Bass Fishing Report – Sept. 27, 2024

Ronnie Garrison | September 27, 2024

Bartletts FerryLevel: 1 foot below 521. Temp: Upper 70s. Clarity: Getting muddy.

Bass: Tournament angler Tyler Morgan, with Summerland Outdoors, and GON Map-Of-The-Month author Ronnie Garrison both won late September tournaments following Tyler’s September fishing report.

Ronnie reports, “On Saturday, Sept. 21, Tyler won the NBT tournament with five bass weighing 12.50 pounds and had big fish, with a 5.70-lb. largemouth. He said he caught three keepers early by fishing grass, then filled his limit and caught the big one fishing a wacky-rigged Senko around wood, just like his report suggested.

On Sunday, I won the Sportsman Club tournament with five weighing 9.73 pounds and had big fish with a 3.04-lb. largemouth. I caught five on Trick Worms around grass and three on a wacky-rigged Senko around wood. The three around wood culled three of the earlier grass fish.
Tyler suggests fishing fast early with buzzbaits, but at my age, I have better luck slowing down with a Trick Worm. Tyler’s October Fishing Report is posted. It was sent before Helene flooded Georgia, so adjust. The lake will be full and the river muddy in most areas. Halawakee Creek where Tyler suggests fishing will have the clearest water on the lake.
