Outdoor Blast Testimonials

Dear GON,

I volunteered for two days at the GON Outdoor Blast in Emerson. I worked Saturday and Sunday mornings.  I found out when Mike Rhodes started letting everyone in and showed me the ropes and how I should direct the folks in, that the owners and readers of Georgia Outdoor News are the nicest people on earth.

Everyone was excited to be there, nobody complained about anything, folks were bringing their deer heads in for scoring. One guy walked in, and five to 10 minutes later, he won a gun in the  Gun-An-Hour Giveaway. Wow, I couldn’t believe the excitement in the air. After my shift, I got my chance to walk through the show and was equally happy.

Next year if I am allowed to volunteer, I will be right back at the Blast having a blast. Thanks GON for allowing me the opportunity to be a small part of such a great show. So much to see and learn.

James Sims, Powder Springs

Editor’s Note: James, we appreciate your service and willingness to help. If it weren’t for volunteers, either at the Outdoor Blast, submitting deer scores to GON’s Georgia Deer Records or submitting articles to GON magazine and GON.com, we’d be out of business very quickly. We appreciate you! Meanwhile, put July 26-28, 2024 on your calendar for next year’s Outdoor Blast. See you at the door.

Dear GON,

Thank you so much for the honor to represent Early County and GON in the 2023 Truck-Buck Shoot-Out. It was also my pleasure meeting you Sunday. Thanks for a great time and the good GON does for advertising and growing the lifestyle we love! Hopefully, me or one of my crew will be back in 2024!

Franklin Ford, Week 16 Winner

Week 13 Shoot-Out contestant Franklin Ford loads the pellet rifle before taking his Round 1 shot, a 45-foot shot at a full-sized skeet.

Dear GON,

I can’t thank you and all the GON family enough for the wonderful weekend my family and I had. Just being a part of this weekend still brings tears to my eyes. You all made this one of the most memorable times of my life. I look forward to what the future holds for GON. I made a ton of new friends and memories that will never be lost. Thank you once again!

Sincerely,

Chad Marcengill, Week 13 Winner
