Ryan Bodine, 14, of Appling, with a Christmas buck taken the evening of Dec. 25 in Columbia County. The 10-point was Ryan’s first harvest of any animal. He had been watching this deer on a small, 5-acre tract for a month, and he shot him with a 12-gauge slug.

Here’s a 15-lb. Savannah River blue catfish caught on Dove soap near Ebenezer Landing in Rincon on April 22. The young angler was 4-year-old Mason Smith.
