Burke County Bear: Terry Ellis, a GON member from Evans, sent a series of pictures of a bear on his Burke County property. “Deer aren’t the only ones who like protein pellets. Lately, this big male black bear has been hanging out around our feeder,” Terry said.

Shed Hunting: This tall-tined buck strolled by the camera at 1:48 a.m. on Feb. 10, and then at 2:48 p.m. on Feb. 11 the antlers were gone. “Despite knowing the exact date and general area where this Bulloch County buck shed his antlers, they couldn’t be found. I have been watching and hunting this buck for the last three years, and the only success has been trail-cam pictures,” said Charles Gay, a GON member from Statesboro.

Didn’t Know Deer Could Jump That High! Maybe the coon on the tree startled this Hancock County doe. Whatever the reason, that’s some serious elevation. Thank you to GON member James Phagan, of Loganville, for sharing the picture.

Predator And Prey: Daniel Morgan sent these pictures from Douglas County. Above you can see a hawk flying in low toward an unsuspecting squirrel, and then it’s right in front of the camera with a meal.
