Bears Fighting For Turf Rights In Cherokee County: Reports of black bears in the north Atlanta suburbs seem to be more and more common. GON subscriber Clay Tyson, of Canton, got this picture in Cherokee County at 6:35 p.m. on Oct. 13.

Hootie Hoo: It’s always exciting to check the card on the trail camera—you just never know what you’re going to get. Like an owl in a tree. GON subscriber Mike Fowler, of Appling, got this shot on his Columbia County food plot on Oct. 16 at 7:53 p.m. “I guess he was hunting mice that were eating seeds. I’m glad he’s on the job,” Mike said.

South Georgia Majesty: Paul and Deborah Wallace, of Albany, sent this picture from Dougherty County, adding, “This buzzard is as beautiful and majestic as a bald eagle welcoming the new day and warmth of the sun! A fixture in south Georgia and appreciated for their hard work in cleaning up carrion that would otherwise cause diseases. They seem to know when deer season starts as they hover over roads, fields and woods searching for lost deer kills, etc.”

Who Emptied This Feeder? Will Barfield got a couple of pictures of this impressive bachelor group over the summer. This picture was taken on Aug. 22 at 8:13 p.m. Will said the bucks were trying to figure out who ate all the corn.

White Shoes: Genetic coloration, or could it be cotton from an adjacent freshly picked field? “Lots of cotton left on the ground, and this pic was taken after we finally got some rain. Unless that’s a really weird genetic trait…” pondered Bob Lynn, of Bethlehem, who got the pic in Dooly County.
