Lake Weiss Fishing Report – October 2023

By GON Staff | September 27, 2023

Weiss: Level: 0.2 feet below 564. Temp: 78-80 degrees. Clarity: Light stain. Multiple Species: Guide Mark Collins reports, “Bass fishing is good, and some have started moving shallow in the bays on secondary points. Creek and river channel ledges are still producing using Carolina rigs and crankbaits. Crappie fishing is fair, and they are on the creek and river channel ledges and deeper brush. They can be caught spider rigging with live minnows over deep brush. Shooting docks with jigs is also producing some fish, Look for the crappie to really start biting as the water cools down. Striper fishing is good, and they are being caught in Little River and the Chattooga River on live shad downlined and freelined. Catfish are biting good in the bays and creeks in 8 to 15 feet of water. Cutbait is working best.” For more on fishing with Mark, go to www.markcollinsguideservice.com/home.html. Lake…
