Hunt Story
It had been a decent and entertaining hunt. I saw 8 to 10 does, a couple small bucks and a decent 8 chase a doe around. I was doing one last scan of the clearcut before I put my binoculars away, daylight was just about gone. I saw the buck at about 400 yards trotting across the clearcut. I struggled to find him in the scope at first. But right when I found him in the scope for whatever reason he stopped. He had closed to about 275 yards. I had a good rest, so I let the 300 bark. I heard the bullet hit, and he folded up like a cheap tent. My dad and brother joined me on the hunt. My brother in law helped me drag him out and swing him into the truck. We took the buck over to Twin City’s Best deer processing.
