Youth Big-Buck Contest 2018-2019 Scoring Results
Brad Gill | March 1, 2019
The second of two scoring events for GON’s Truck-Buck and Youth Big-Buck contests was held in Madison on Saturday, Feb. 23.
Fifty-four youth 15 and younger showed up to have their bucks scored in the hopes of moving onto the GON Youth Big-Buck Shoot-Out on Friday, July 26 at the Outdoor Blast in Duluth. The winner of that BB-rifle competition will win a the $3,000 shopping spree at Adventure Outdoors and a weekend hunting trip to Woods-N-Water.
The youth winners from each week will receive their invitations to the Youth Big-Buck Shoot-Out through letter and e-mail by GON Editor Brad Gill in the next few weeks.
Winners were determined after official scoring of racks done by certified Boone & Crockett measurers using the Boone & Crockett/Pope & Young system. Scores are B&C/P&Y net. To compare typical versus non-typical racks, divide the net scores into the minimums for B&C all-time record books; 170 for typicals and 195 for non-typicals.
