Madison County Hosts 8th Annual Peach Classic Coonhound Event

John Seginak | March 18, 2022

On March 11-12, the North Georgia Houndsmen’s club hosted the sanctioned United Kennel Club Peach Classic Hunt and Show for 2022. It was held at the Madison County Fairgrounds in Comer.

The overall Peach Classic Show winner was PR Southern Fancy Like That owned by Mark and Tiffany Adkins from West Virginia.

The event drew an excellent turnout with 94 dogs being hunted and 50 competing in the bench show. There were entries from 10 different states; Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, West Virginia, Virginia, Missouri, Tennessee and Mississippi. Several vendors are always in attendance selling everything from dog leaders and lights to hip boots and coveralls. Children also participated in a bench show that is always held with each child who participates receiving a trophy. A good time was had by all.
The overall Peach Classic Hunt winner was Night Champion Wooten’s Blue Spanky, owned by Brian Gilley and Stacy Wooten from Georgia/Mississippi.
