Archery Range Re-Opens At Evans County PFA
DNR Press Release | March 25, 2020
A newly renovated archery range at Evans County Public Fishing Area, located near Claxton, has re-opened to the public. It is one of more than 40 archery and shooting ranges currently available on public land in Georgia.
The renovation work was extensive and improvements include:
- New shooting line cover
- ADA accessible
- Static target range (10, 20, 30 and 40 yards)
- 3D target range (15, 25 and 35 yards)
This range will serve as a resource for area shooting enthusiasts. Users need to bring their own gear.
Your license dollars at work! The renovation work done here today was made possible by hunters and shooters. The Wildlife Restoration Program, which funded a large portion of this project, is a federal program funded by hunters and shooters through excise taxes on the equipment they purchase and use, such as firearms, ammunition and archery equipment. Money from the sale of hunting licenses also are an important source of funding for this project.
