Altamaha River Catfish Tourney Is June 6-7

GON Staff | May 27, 2020

Great news from southeast Georgia—the annual Wayne County Catfish Tournament will be held as scheduled June 6-7.

Anglers can fish anywhere on the Altamaha River, and the weigh-in will be held as usual at the Jaycee Landing in Jesup. The entry fee is $200 per boat, with an optional $10 per angler Big Fish Pot. Prizes are determined by the number of entries, but a $7,500 first place prize and $1,000 big fish prize are expected.

Because of social-distancing requirements, spectators won’t be allowed at the weigh-in this year. Also, only one teammate will be allowed to weigh-in fish. For information on the tournament and special rules in place for the competition and weigh-in, please visit www.waynetourism.com or call 912.427.3233.
