Al Horton Finishes On Top As Georgia Wins 2010 TBF Southern Division

Brad Gill | July 6, 2010

Al Horton, of Palmetto, was the overall Southern Division champion.

It’s all-around good news for Georgia bass-club anglers. Not only did Palmetto resident Al Horton win this year’s The Bass Federation (TBF) Southern Division championship, but the Georgia team was top team for the June 9-11 tournament at Lake Eufaula.

Al Horton and Jeff Williams, of Marietta, now advance to the 2011 Federation National Championship. There, they will compete for a quarter of a million dollars in cash and prizes and the chance to “Live the Dream” fishing the FLW Pro Tour for a year with fully paid entry fees and the use of a wrapped Chevrolet truck and Ranger boat and travel money. Entries in the 2011 BFL All-American will also be on the line.

Georgia is proud to have this year’s Southern Division Championship title. Team members include (front row, from left) Al Horton, Jeff Williams, John Pettit, Donald Culverson, Brandon Glass and Allen Helbert; (Back row, from left), Larry Lewis, Mike Marshall, David Pettis, Patrick Brown, George Roberson and Joe Harris. Absent in the photo is Mike Faulkner, who was replaced on day three by alternate Larry Lewis.
