Lake Weiss Fishing Report – September 2023
GON Staff | August 30, 2023
Weiss: Level: 0.3 feet below 564. Temp: Light stain to clear. Clarity: 86-88 degrees.
Bass: Guide Mark Collins reports, “Bass fishing is good, and most have moved to the creek and river channel ledges. Carolina rigs and crankbaits are catching fish.”
Multiple Species: Guide Mark Collins reports, “Crappie fishing is fair, and they are on the creek and river channel ledges and deeper brush. They can be caught spider rigging with live minnows over deep brush. Shooting docks with jigs is also producing some fish. Striper fishing is good, and they are being caught in Little River and the Chattooga River on live shad downlined and freelined. Catfish are biting good in the bays and creeks in 8 to 15 feet of water. Cutbait is working best.” For more on fishing with Mark, go to www.markcollinsguideservice.com/home.html.
