Lake Weiss Fishing Report May 2017

GON Staff | April 26, 2017

Weiss: Level: 0.2 feet below full pool. Temp: Upper 60s. Clarity: Lightly stained.

Bass: Guide Mark Collins reports, “Bass fishing is fair, with most fish shallow and spawning. Look for the fishing to get better as they come off the beds. Shallow-running crankbaits, spinnerbaits and jigs are working well.”

Crappie: Mark reports, “Crappie fishing is poor, as most have spawned and started moving back to deeper cover. They can be caught long-line trolling with 1/24-oz. Jiffy Jigs in colors JJ08, JJ13, JJ17, JJ20, JJ24, JJ25 and Mark’s blue and sexy bug. Crappie can also be caught spider-rigging with minnows.”
