Lake Weiss Fishing Report July 2015

GON Staff | June 25, 2015

Weiss: Level: 0.2 feet below full pool. Temp: Mid 80s. Clarity: Light stain.

Bass:
“Bass fishing has been very good,” says Bill Hamlin at Little River Marina. “It took 23 pounds to win a tournament here last week. The fishermen are concentrating on the deeper docks and the ledges. On the docks, black-and-blue jigs and summer-craw jigs are catching most of the bass. Out on the ledges, pearl-colored DD22 crankbaits seem to be taking most of the fish, but some on Saturday were catching them on shaky heads.” In another tournament on Saturday, tournament angler Carl Logan won with 15 pounds. He was cranking ledges with a Strike King 5XD. Even with the win, Carl reports that the fish weren’t hard on the ledges yet, and that fishing was pretty tough.
