Lake Weiss Fishing Report – July 2009

GON Staff | June 23, 2009

Weiss: Level: 0.3 feet below full pool. Temp: Mid 80s. Clarity: Slightly stained.

Bass: Very good. Guide Warren Barnes reports, “Bass fishing has been great. I have been catching both largemouths and spots in and around grass and seawalls during the early hours, and then flipping docks and fishing creek ledges after the sun gets high. The most productive baits have been Revenge spinnerbaits and Gambler Cane Toads early, and then flipping Revenge jigs or Gambler Ugly otters under the docks. On the ledges I am using shaky heads with a Jackall Flickshake 4 1/2-inch worm or slow rolling a Revenge spinnerbait. As we get into the month of July, look for the fish to move into the main-river areas, and these same patterns should work as well.”
