Lake Weiss Fishing Report – December 2009

GON Staff | November 25, 2009

Weiss: Level: 1.6 feet below full pool. Temp: Mid 50s to low 60s. Clarity: Muddy.

Bass: Good. Warren Barnes reports, “All the recent heavy rains, muddy water and warm weather have the bass biting. I am catching good fish around the wood and rocks back in the creeks using Revenge spinnerbaits and also throwing Jackall MC60 crankbaits in these same areas. Cowan and Spring creeks are two good areas to try. As the water starts to fall, look for the bass to start moving out to points. I like to use a lipless crankbaits like the Jackall TN/70 to catch these fish and cover lots of water. Later in the month, look for the fish to move out on the main-lake ledges, and try using techniques such as the Jackall Flick Shake, jigs and deep crankbaits. If we get several warm days, look for bass to move back into the shallows.”
